guinea group
We mean "pastured" in that our guineas not only are free of  cages (Free-range) but also live in their natural enviroment, upon a constant turf of fresh, clean grass.  Our guineas truly have the run of the farm. While they were chicks, we fed them a combination of Brewers yeast, fresh garlic, grit, and a custom grind feed that contains no antibiotics, hormones, or medications.
But once they were old enough to fly they literally "flew the coop" and we can't corner them to even give them feed! So for the majority of their lives, the guineas live mainly off of insects, which is their natural diet and feed they steal from our ducks.
Because of their "wild life" they are best prepared like other wild game by a long, slow, moist cooking. One of our customers says they make "the best pot pie". The flavor is very rich, and the meat dark, lean, and tasty. The skin has a black tint due to the color of it's feathers, but do not be taken aback by it's appearance. This bird originated in South Africa, but is known all through out Europe and the United States for it's delicious, meaty flavor. Carcasses also make a rich, nutrient dense broth.

If you are interested in 5 or more Guineas, please let us know you are interested and we will raise to order.
